Veggie Burgers with Blue Cheese Crumbles

Veggie Burger with Blue Cheese Crumbles is juicy and delicious.  It’s made with vegan veggie burgers, sautéed white onions, blue cheese sauce, and some tasty blue cheese crumbles.  The burgers are served on brioche buns – a great burger for your next barbeque.

 


 

Veggie Burger with Blue Cheese Crumbles

Ingredients:
1 15oz Can of black beans low sodium, rinsed and drained
1/2 Cup of oats
3/4 Cup of cooked quinoa
1 Garlic clove, minced
Pinch of Himalayan salt and pepper
1 White onion, chopped (add to mixture)
Smoky Onions:
2 Teaspoons of olive oil
1 Large onion, sliced
2 Teaspoons of soy sauce
2 Teaspoon of sugar free maple syrup
For Burgers:
Burger Buns, organic
Lettuce
Vegan Blue Cheese crumbles
Nondairy Blue Cheese sauce
Directions:
-In a cast iron skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sliced onion. Sauté for 5 to 7 minutes. Then add sugar free maple syrup and soy sauce to the pan, toss to coat and continue to sauté until onions are nice and caramelized. This may take another 5 – 10 minutes. Set aside.
-Make the quinoa according to directions on packaging.
-Add the oats in the food processor and pulse until textured flour is formed, add to a large bowl for mixing.
-Rinse and drain the black beans, pulse in the food processor until they are broken and mashed. Add to the bowl.
-Roughly chop and measure onion, add to the food processor with garlic and pulse until it’s tiny minced looking, add to skillet for 5 minutes to caramelize and then add to the bowl with other ingredients.
-Then add the cooked quinoa to the bowl.
-Mix with a spoon to combine ingredients really well and form a large burger patty.
-Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, heat it to medium heat and place the burgers in a cast skillet. Let them them cook until golden brown and crispy for about 5-10 minutes and carefully flip and cook the other side. On a serving plate add a bun with lettuce, nondairy blue cheese sauce, veggie burger with plant based melted sliced cheese, Smokey onions and top off with delicious nondairy blue cheese crumbles. You can also add your favorite topping too. Enjoy!
