This is a Vegan Chocolate Tart that I decided to make for dessert. I used some slivered almonds, vegan chocolate, and a baked sweet potato as some of my special ingredients. This is truly a chocolate lover’s dessert, and it was easy to make.
Mom’s Organic is one of a handful of markets where I can purchase my recipe ingredients. The others include Whole Foods Market, Wegmans and Sprouts Farmers Market. Great ingredients are important when baking great desserts! If you’d like to see some awesome kitchen essentials check out the ones on my Shop Page.
Vegan Chocolate Tart
2 Cups of almonds
1/2 Cup of oats
1/3 Cup of coconut oil (melted)
2 Tablespoons of raw cacao powder
2 Tablespoons of sugar free maple syrup
1 and 1/2 Cups of cooked sweet potatoes
2/3 Cup of raw cacao powder
2/3 Cup of coconut oil (melted)
1/3 Cup of coconut milk
1/2 Cup of sugar free maple syrup
Pinch of Himalayan salt
For the crust: Add the crust ingredients to a food processor and pulse until fine and sticky. Press the mixture into a 9 inch tart pan, with a removable bottom and place in the freezer to become firm.
-Filling: Add the filling ingredients to the food processor, to process until smooth. Make sure the ingredients are not cold, since that can cause the oil to solidify.
-Take the hardened crust out of the freezer then pour the chocolate filling into the pie crust and chill in the fridge until set for about 2 hours. You can top with cacao nibs and slivered almonds and enjoy!
Note: You can also use fruit too!
