Tasty French Toast

Breakfast, Vegan

One morning I made this Tasty French Toast for breakfast. I used some vegan butter and sugar free maple syrup. I made it using some plant based almond milk! The recipe is listed below:

Ingredients:
8 -10 slices of thick toast (amount will vary regarding size of toast. You can double the liquid batch also to make more French toast if desired).
1.5 Tablespoons of ground chia seeds
1 Cup of almond milk (or a non-dairy milk of your choice).
1 Teaspoon of cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon of nutmeg
1 Teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons of coconut sugar
Pinch of Himalayan salt
1/4 Cup of all-purpose gluten free flour
1 Teaspoon of baking powder
Vegan butter or cooking spray for pan

Directions:
-In a medium bowl combine plant milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, salt, coconut sugar, flour, baking powder and ground chia seeds, whisk everything until combined. Let liquid sit and thicken, then heat up your skillet.
-Add melted butter to grease the skillet or you can use cooking spray.
-You can either use a large bowl or use a large square Tupperware container to pour batter into.
-Take a piece of toast and quickly dip each side into the mixture and put it on a hot skillet, cook for about 20 minutes or so on one side and flip and cook for about the same time checking to make sure it doesn’t burn. The cooking time will depend on how hot your skillet is.
-Continue with remaining toast. You can serve with maple syrup, vegan butter, powdered sugar, berries or whatever you desire! Enjoy!
