Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Chocolate Covered Pretzels are a great holiday treat.  Gluten free pretzels are dipped in creamy, nondairy chocolate.  The kids will enjoy helping to make these treats, and they are a great gift idea!

 


 

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Ingredients:
16 oz. bag of gluten-free salted pretzels
½ cup of vegan butter, melted
2/3 cup of organic sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of nondairy dark chocolate, melted
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
Directions:
-Preheat the oven to 325F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  Set aside.
-In a medium size saucepan, melt the vegan butter then pour it into a small bowl, add the vanilla extract. Stir to combine. In a medium size bowl, add organic sugar and cinnamon.  Whisk ingredients.
-Toss half of the pretzels in the vegan butter and half in the sugar mixture.  Arrange on the prepared baking sheet with parchment paper.
-Bake for 8 minutes until the pretzels are golden.  Make sure they don’t burn then remove from the oven to cool.
-Melt the chocolate in a double boiler with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.   Stir until smooth and creamy.
-Dip each pretzel in melted chocolate and place on a baking sheet with parchment paper.  Repeat the process with the remaining pretzels.
-Then freeze for 10 minutes until set.  Remove pretzels from the freezer and drizzle with remaining chocolate.  Refrigerate for 5 minutes, serve and enjoy!
