This is my plant based version of a Chicago Style Plant Based Hot Dog. It’s loaded with the best tasty toppings, including chopped pepperoncini, tomatoes, and white onions. The plant based hot dogs have smoked apple and sage. This recipe would be perfect for your cookouts and other summer family gatherings.
Chicago Style Plant Based Hot Dogs
Ingredients:
6 hot dog rolls
1 white onion, chopped fine
1/2 cup of pepperoncini, chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped fine
4 to 6 teaspoons of yellow mustard
Directions:
-Chop and wash the tomatoes and onion. Then set aside.
-You can toast the rolls for about 5 minutes then remove from heat and set aside.
-Grill the plant based hot dogs until they are cooked through according to directions on packaging.
-Place the hotdog roll on a serving plate, add plant based hotdog, top with chopped onions, pepperoncini and tomatoes. Drizzle with yellow mustard and serve with fries or your favorite side dish. Enjoy!
