Balsamic Glaze Brussels Sprouts

Balsamic Glaze Brussels Sprouts is a delicious holiday side dish that is absolutely bursting with flavor.  The Brussels Sprouts have a nutty taste, and the balsamic glaze really enhances the flavor.



Balsamic Glaze Brussels Sprouts

1/2 cup of onion, chopped
½ pounds brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon of smoked paprika
1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
Sprinkle of pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons of balsamic glaze
Sprinkle of pomegranate seeds
Garnish with basil, chopped
-In a cast iron skillet add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil.
-Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until soft and translucent.  Remove the onions and garlic, place on a paper towel lined plate. Set aside.
-In a single layer place the halved brussels sprouts in the pan, cut-side down in the skillet.  Add two to three tablespoons of water then cover and allow the steam to help to cook the brussels sprouts. Add additional water or 1 tablespoon of olive oil if necessary.
-Cook for 8 minutes this way before stirring.  Add the onions back into the skillet with the minced garlic then cook the brussels sprouts until fork tender.  Add Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, and pepper as desired.  Add to a serving plate and drizzle with balsamic glaze.  Mix and serve with a sprinkle of chopped basil and pomegranate seeds. Enjoy!
